In Payerne, in Switzerland SolarXplorers is preparing to fly to the edge of space. Continuous innovation is key for such a challenging project. A similar innovative approach was needed for the expansion of their aircraft hangar. The standardised meccano concept applied by Frisomat, provided an excellent solution.
To facilitate assembly work on the aircraft with its 25 m wingspan, Frisomat designed a 30 m wide building with an XL sliding door. This enables technicians to ride the solar plane in and out in no time. The lightweight steel and the modular system used by Frisomat seamlessly fit in with the vision of ecology of SolarXplorers.
