International transport is our speciality
Frisomat uses high-quality, cold-formed steel to construct your building. This construction technique is not only very strong and cost-efficient, but also by far the easiest technique for transport. Our steel columns, beams and panels can be moved in open top containers by ordinary freight transport, without any specialist handling. This is faster, cheaper and easier than transporting most traditional building materials.
 
We are aware of all the local regulations
Building regulations are usually very strict. Height, strength etc. – everything is regulated, right down to the smallest detail. This is no problem for us. We look into local laws and regulations to ensure that we adhere to them when we design your project. We also know how to deal with the complexity of international shipping, getting customs clearance and working with local construction teams.
 
Coping with local weather conditions
Another challenge when building in your country may be the climate. Warm, dry, wet, cold, windy, stormy, snowy: all of these weather conditions can have a big impact on your building. We strengthen our buildings in accordance with the expected climate, to ensure that they stand the test of time.

Yes, you are completely free to choose whoever you want as your architect. Frisomat does not have its own team of architects, but we do have a network of reliable architects with whom we work regularly. Our engineers and specialists are always able to provide the broadest possible support through detailed calculations, plans, etc. As a result, construction of our steel buildings is a hassle-free process.

An architect supports the constructor as a creative specialist. They draw up the proposals, discuss the desired size and the view, etc. Sometimes, the building is part of a larger construction project. All of these vital decisions are part of an architect’s work.
Frisomat prefers to act as a partner. Once you have made a decision about the type, size and view from the building, you can leave everything else to us: from calculation to delivery.

You always need planning permission to construct a Frisomat building. Frisomat cannot apply for this permission for you. You must apply for it at the municipality in which you wish to build. Enquire about the building regulations so that you know exactly what the prerequisites are for being allowed to build. We will be happy to help you obtain a permit. We can provide you with all the building plans, cross-sections and drawings that your architect needs to submit the planning permission application to the municipality.
 
After approximately three months, if you have received the permit for your project, please contact us. We will then immediately start the production of your building.

Everything for your steel structure is produced by us
Frisomat’s factories manufacture every steel beam, cladding and column, and all bolts and attachments. As a result, from the moment the steel arrives at our factory, we don’t need to work with any suppliers or other partners. This makes planning easier.
Moreover, we have perfected these processes over the past 45 years. Today, we can confidently say that no time is ever wasted in the production and assembly flow of our prefabricated steel structures.
 
Transport by sea and land
The main advantage of cold-formed steel is its weight. Because the steel is so light, it can easily be transported by barges, trains or trucks. With our stackable design, we can transport a building of up to 1000m² in a single 40ft container! Thanks to our global network, we can also deliver your building anywhere in the world.
 
Assembly by local teams
Years ago, Frisomat developed and patented a unique system with pre-punched holes and (conical) bolts to construct your building. This assembly process can easily be learned by your local construction team, especially thanks to the clear and thorough documentation from our engineers. Most steel buildings require only a small construction crew and some light lifting equipment. This also saves time.

The standard Frisomat models are of course the most efficient and quickest solution for the construction of an industrial building. Most of the calculations have already been done. Our standard buildings are also designed with an endless range of applications in mind.

But you do of course have creative licence. Our unique Frisomat construction system is very flexible: new constructions can always be created with the available components. Our engineers and specialists will be happy to help you with more complex calculations where necessary.

We offer different sizes: the smallest building is 8m wide, 10m long and 3m high, but we can also supply buildings with a free span of up to 60 metres. Yes, Frisomat calculates all the reaction forces of the building in detail, and provides these to the architect and the engineering office. This means that you always have the right figures for your construction project.
 
Frisomat can provide all the relevant calculations at any moment:
– Calculations of the load-bearing capacity of the steel in the trusses, wind bracing, facade cladding, purlins and side rails (according to Eurocodes EN1993-1-3 and EN1993-1-5).
– Check calculations for the connectors
– Calculation of the reaction forces for the foundation design
– Design notes on the anchorage to the underlying foundation

Is Frisomat constructing your industrial building? If so, first prepare your site so that we can assemble your steel building on a firm, flat surface. In addition, ensure the site is accessible for our construction crew and their light trucks.

Your substrate: flat
The ground on which we construct your building must be flat and topped with rock debris. The maximum height difference for the entire building surface, plus one metre around it, is ten centimetres.

Your surface: sturdy and mud-free
The surface on which we install your building must be dry, mud-free and have the required load capacity according to the cone penetration test. You do not need to lay any paving such as concrete or asphalt. Is there a concrete floor? No problem; we can also construct your building on that.

Your site: easily accessible
The construction crew needs an easily accessible site. The entire site, and the surrounding three metres, must be clear. The whole site area must be accessible to a 4×2 truck, regardless of the weather conditions.

Depending on the type of building and the surface, we work with 3 types of foundations:

Prefabricated concrete pedestals:
if the terrain is levelled, topped with rock debris and can be excavated, we can make small wells with our excavator into which the pedestals are placed. In consultation with Frisomat, you provide the poured concrete to refill the wells and sufficiently anchor the pedestals.

Wedge bolts or epoxy anchors: if a concrete floor or plinth beam is already in place before the installation of the building, we work with wedge bolts or epoxy anchors that are anchored in the concrete. Ideally, you would pour the concrete according to our dimensions, so that the waterproofness can be guaranteed.

Anchors: if a clamped foundation is required (e.g. with a wide span), we provide galvanised anchors with base plates that must be positioned in the concrete according to our foundation plan.

Yes and no. The building can be assembled by a trained Frisomat team. But it can also be done by a local team, with only a small construction crew and light lifting equipment. All our buildings are supplied with comprehensive building instructions.
 
Clear building instructions
Constructing a Frisomat steel building is a matter of following the instructions, aligning the pre-punched holes and fitting the bolts. The structure will gradually carry its own weight, allowing you to work quickly and set up your building in less than a few weeks.

Of course, our teams of specialists are ready to help you with any problem you may encounter along the way. Even when a local team assembles your building, Frisomat will guide the project to a successful outcome.

After adjustment (weighting) of the steel structure, it is perfectly possible to install it and leave the surrounding walls open. You can close the building at any time later on if you wish.

We have a very extensive range of windows, doors, gates, overhead (bridge) cranes, mezzanines and much more. But you can also choose a supplier yourself.

Has your business outgrown your Frisomat building? No problem. With a few small adjustments, we can enlarge your building as desired. You can extend your building with no problem at all. All connection points are already provided for this purpose.
The easiest way to extend your building is to build a second one next to it. This can be the same, but it does not have to be. In addition, you can leave the partitions completely or partially open.

Your Frisomat building maintains itself. The galvanisation of the steel provides protection against corrosion and scratches and, in addition, this coating repels dirt.
With some simple maintenance, you can keep your building in top condition:
 
– Empty and clean the gutters regularly
– Regularly lubricate the hinges of large and small doors
– Remove snow from the roof after heavy snowfall
– In strong winds, close windows, large and small doors, as well as smoke ducts
 
Clean with water. That’s it.
Thanks to our custom-made gutters and drainpipes, rainfall and other dirt are diverted away from your building. Of course, the walls can always get dirty from sand and dust. In that case, you can simply clean them with water.
